Elizabeth the Puma

Long, long ago, the smoky mountains gleamed. On top was a puma named Elizabeth and a princess named Eliza. Elizabeth was great at swimming. She could swim across the Atlantic Ocean non-stop
One damp spring afternoon, Erin the dove flew in and dropped a letter. It read: The medieval dragon is coming!
Erin said, “We must tell our queen, Jackie!!!”
Elizabeth grabbed bread and water and a coat, and she set off on her way. First, she came upon a dark wood and slowly made her way around it trying not to make too many noises. She suddenly came upon the forbidden river that Eliza the princess told her not to go near. She was told not to, but time was wasting!
She began to swim. SPLASH!!! An Evil turtle named Sese Nugese pulled her under to his air home. SMASH!!! A big crate fell over her and she began to cry. The big, green, slimy turtle came out of nowhere.
He said, “I will eat you for supper!”
Elizabeth was so frightened she began to shake. The walls were covered in slime and the floor was a grass green color. She had to get out of this horrible place!
Elizabeth began to really, really think. Elizabeth thought so hard that smoke came from her ears. An idea shot up and out of Elizabeth’s mouth.
“I challenge you to a swimming race!” Elizabeth announced.
“Fine,” said Sese Nugese. “I’m the fastest swimmer in all the land!”
Elizabeth got to the edge of the river with Sese Nugese.
“Ready, set, go!” Sese Nugese zoomed forward. As he zoomed off, Elizabeth realized that she didn’t need to race to get away. She said, “I’m leaving,” and climbed out of the river and went back on her way.
Elizabeth ran faster than the speed of light. She ran and ran and finally got to Jackie, the queen. When Elizabeth got inside, Jackie was napping. Elizabeth lightly woke her to tell her what had happened. Jackie thanked her and ‘poofed’ Elizabeth home with her wand.
“I’m home!” said Elizabeth.
“Did you go in the forbidden river?” asked Eliza.
“Well…yes. But I’m here and I’m safe,” Elizabeth confessed. Elizabeth then told Eliza her courageous story.
“I can understand why you went in the river, but you learned your lesson?” said Eliza.
“Yes, I most certainly have!” exclaimed Elizabeth.
