Gabriel the Ferret

Once, long ago before humans, there were no oceans only a dark forest. In the middle of it there was an underground hut. In that hut, there lived a ferret named Gabriel and a pig named Jack. Gabriel was very good at track and field.

One bright spring morning Jack was digging a new bedroom for Gabriel. All of a sudden the ground shook. Jack knew what that meant and called Gabriel. He whispered, “You must go to Tommy the legendary chicken in his tipi and tell him a stampede of zim is coming and he must leave with his magic ball.” But he also said, “Do not go to the forbidden Mountains.”

Because it was a stormy day, Gabriel wore a cloak. He packed food, water, and track and field shoes. As he left, he called, “See you soon.”

The air was freezing. The ground was flooded with water and mud. Gabriel felt scared because it was the first time he was all alone in the forest. After three of four hours, Gabriel found the path was getting rockier and the rain got heavier.

Gabriel stopped to read a sign. Suddenly, Gabriel made out the words. It read, “Short cut to Tommy’s Tipi.” He ran right between two tall mountains.

The second Gabriel stepped onto the rocky slope, the rocks fell away and Gabriel was trapped in a large hole. Gabriel smelled a stench a million times worse than dirty diapers. The claws of a squirrel emerged and pulled Gabriel out of the pit. Gabriel realized this must be Dada Cenada the evil squirrel of the mountains. Then Dada Cenada screeched in a scratchy voice, “You will make an excellent pet meal. My pet bugs love ferret.”

Gabriel had to think fast. He knew Dada Cenada was frightened of the Zim. Since Gabriel was a good friend of the Zim, he knew where their traps were. So he challenged Dada Cenada to a track and field contest. Dada Cenada agreed and put Gabriel down. They went outside, Gabriel went to the trap, Gabriel flipped over it easily. But when it was Dada Cenada’s turn he fell right into the trap. Gabriel ran out of the mountains as fast as he could.

Gabriel wasted no time and ran head first into Tommy The Chicken’s tipi. When Gabriel got there, Tommy was playing cards with a few fairies. Gabriel panted. “A stampede of zim is coming.” Tommy stood up and waved his magic wand. A force field rose around the tipi. Another wave of the wand and Gabriel was home. He never told a word of what really happened.
