The Unforgettable Journey

Back in the days when magic was still on earth there was a trail of mountains stretching for miles across the land. It always had a cool breeze in the evening that felt like water was sprinkling on you like a light shower. There was a young Puma named Mariel who lived with a beautiful blue jay, Claire. Mariel loved to climb and she was very good at it too. One frosty fall afternoon Mariel heard a knock at the door. It was Faith the eagle with a note that said “The evil monkey will darken the moon so no creature will be able to find bananas for the whole night!” Mariel knew Patsy would want to know because she loved bananas! Claire told Mariel not to go to the forbidden village. Mariel set of to the journey to Patsy’s marsh.
Ten minutes into the walk she got cold so she took out her homemade thermos of hot chocolate. It was soothing to her throat. Mariel wandered into a dark village and all of a sudden she saw the gate close. She looked back and saw a fierce lion with dagger sharp claws dug into the ground. His mane was thick and had light brown fur. Mariel was so terrified she shrieked. The fierce lion came up to her and yelled, “I’m hungry and you look like a great snack!” Mariel thought so hard about how to get out that her face turned purple. Then she had an idea. She would challenge him to a climbing contest. She said, “I challenge you to a climbing contest. We will climb those mountains in the distance.” The lion opened the gate and said, “On your mark get set go!” They started climbing but Mariel knew a shortcut to Patsy’s house so she went that way instead. She said, “Bye,” in a foolish voice.
Mariel needed to get to Patsy’s marsh so she ran to the marsh as fast as she could. When Mariel got there Patsy was baking banana nut muffins for breakfast for tomorrow morning. Mariel told Patsy the message and she said, “Thank you, I love bananas!” She also said she will send her friend to talk to the monkey. Then Patsy said, “I will call my friend and she will send you home with her magic. And in no time Mariel was home. While Mariel opened the door he saw Claire on the couch. Claire asked me, “Why do you have mud all splattered all over your leg?” Mariel knew she had to tell Claire. “I have mud on my leg because I went to the village and slipped as I escaped.” Claire hesitated, “At least you are safe.”
