Hamster and Mouse

by Anaviah

Once there was a hamster named Anaviah who lived with a mouse named Imani. They lived in an apartment. The apartment was a tree. Well, a hole in a tree. Anaviah was so good at singing that she could sing without taking a breath.

One day Anaviah asked Imani to go to buy tickets to go to a concert because there was Anaviah’s favorite singer. Anaviah was left home. But before Imani left she said, “Don’t go in my room or else …” And she left.

“Or else what?” Anaviah said. After Imani left, Anaviah decided to eat early lunch. Anaviah looked out the window and saw a mouse that looked like Imani. It made Anaviah sad because Imani wasn’t there. Anaviah heard a lot of thumping. The thumping made Anaviah scared.

Just then, something terrible happened! Anaviah charged up the stairs. A cabinet was thumping. Anaviah was in big trouble because she wasn’t supposed to go in Imani's room. A monster popped out of the cabinet. It looked like it had just come out of a swamp. Luckily Anaviah was good at singing. She had to think of a way to stop this. Anaviah sang a good night song. The monster fell asleep. Anaviah put the monster in the cabinet and cleaned up the room. So Imani didn’t know what Anaviah did.
Finally Anaviah was safe again! Now Anaviah had to wait for Imani to
get home. When Imani got home, she said “Did you listen to me when I told you not to go in my room?”
“Yes.” And Imani never found out.
