Prairie Dog and Mouse

by Anaviah

Once there was a prairie dog named Anaviah who lived with a mouse named Aleeza. They lived in an underground mansion. They loved their big room. They had so many books in the mansion. Anaviah was so good at reading that she could read 2000 pages in one day.
One day, Aleeza asked Anaviah to go to the store to get some medicine because Aleeza was sick. Before Anaviah left Aleeza warned Anaviah not to go to the Old Scary Burnt Down Shack because there was a mean old dragon. The mean old dragon liked to trap people in the Burnt Down Shack.
Anaviah put on her backpack and said, “I hope you feel better,” to Aleeza. As Anaviah walked to the door she noticed a flower. It was red. It reminded her of Aleeza’s new favorite red pants. It made her feel happy because she made the pants for Aleeza and they were special to Aleeza.

Suddenly, as she was skipping her backpack flew off of her and it landed with a big THUMP! That big old thump made the dragon think what he wanted for dinner.
Just then, something terrible happened! The big mean old dragon popped out with a great big BOO. “Man, your breath stinks!” yelled Anaviah.
Anaviah was in big trouble because she couldn’t get her backpack. The dragon grabbed onto Anaviah’s arm and put her in the trap and he set off to put the water in the pot for his dinner. Anaviah was panicking. She was scared.
Luckily Anaviah was very good at reading. She had to think of a way to get out of that trap. She reached to get her bag. She reached it! She got her bag she opened it. She reached her book and she took it out. She dug the dirt for hours and she used the hard part of the book to dig. Within three hours she got out of the trap.
Finally, Anaviah was safe again. Now she just had to get home. As she walked home she wondered if there was medicine at home.
When Anaviah got home, Aleeza said, “Did you go near the burnt down shack when I told you not to?”
Anaviah said, “No I didn’t.” She made up a story and told it to Aleeza. She went to the cabinet and found medicine. She gave it to Aleeza and Aleeza felt better. And Anaviah never went near that burnt down shack ever ever again.
