Cara and Lora

by Sophia

Once there was a pitch black Cat named Cara who lived with a white mouse named Lora. They lived in a crooked tower with ivy on the walls. The windows were cracked and the tower was one hundred years old. There were weeds all over the tower. Cara was so good at jumping down mountains she could jump down the tallest mountain in the world.
One day Lora told Cara to go to the store to get a fur coat. But Lora warned her not to go to the Chiara mountains. Cara asked, “what is wrong about the Chiara mountains?” “There is a Chiara Giant” said Lora. Cara said “okay.” So she went out the door. It was a cool summer night the forest was full of dark trees that looked like spiders. “I do not like spiders but they are trees” she thought.
After a couple of minutes a rabbit with long ears passed. Then after an hour, she saw two yellow eyes looking at her. A wolf jumped out of the bushes. She ran for her life, faster and faster. She thought how angry Lora would be if she found out. After a little way the wolf turned and started running the other way. Cara turned to see what happened. To her horror she saw the Chiara giant coming up his Mountain looking at her. There was no way to escape. Then she realized there was a steep cliff. The Chiara Giant said, "You can jump down the cliff or I will eat you." Cara knew right away it would be easy to jump down the cliff. So she did.
Cara smiled on the way to the store. She got the fur coat and went home. She saw the giant still staring at the spot Cara was when she jumped off, amazed.

When Cara got home Lora asked, "did you listen to me and not go to the Chiara mountains?” Cara told Lora everything. And Lora just smiled.
