Wickity the Witch

by Sophia

Once there was a witch named Wickity who lived with a cat named Midnight. They lived in a small house made of brick. Wickity’s garden was full of weeds. At the end of her crooked fly way there was a spooky tree. Wickity was so good at jumping that she could jump 10 feet into the air.
One day, Midnight asked Wickity to go to a broom store to get a broom with a shiny handle but Midnight warned Wickity not to go to the snapping turtle’s house. Wickity muttered, “Yes” then she put on her black coat and put her hand on the doorknob. Wickity could not wait to get it. Midnight screamed, “brooms are fun!” to Wickity. As Wickity walked out the door she noticed, there was a full yellow moon. It reminded her of her great, great uncle he was a wolf and he had yellow eyes. It made her feel happy because he told jokes to her.

Suddenly, she saw a ghost! She was so frightened that she ran. She saw the ghost’s greedy eyes looking at her. Just then, something terrible happened! She fell in a hole! Deeper and deeper one foot after another there was rocks and dirt and vines there was the snapping turtle. She had a brown shell and her eyes were black and she looked hungry. “I will eat you,” she snapped.
Wickity was in big trouble because she was not supposed to go here. She wondered if Midnight would understand. She saw the snapping turtle. It had a fork, knife and spoon.
Luckily, Wickity was very good at jumping. She had to think of a way to jump. Then she got it. She had to jump out of the hole. Finally, Wickity was safe again. Now she just had to go and get the broom.
She went and got the broom. She put out her hand and grabbed it. When Wickity got home, Midnight said, “Did you go and fall in the snapping turtle’s house?” Wickity said it was true. Midnight smiled and said it was all right. She felt happy.
