Mattie and the Big Book of Magic

by Tessa

Long ago there was a brown dog named Mattie. She has soft ears and can hear a mouse sneeze from 100 miles away. She’s a veszla and is very good at reading. She lived with a Australian shepherd named Waston. They lived in a jungle in Africa. The jungle was a jungle with green palm trees and banana trees.
One day Mattie was reading a red book and thought, “I love this book.” Watson had to go to China to buy Tessa a birthday present. Before he left he told Mattie not to read the Big Book Of Magic!

After Mattie read all the books in her house she had nothing to do. She hated watching T.V. so she couldn’t do that. She walked around the house feeling bored. Suddenly she heard a thumping! She knew it wasn’t a monster but she was still scared. She whimpered, “It’s not a monster. It’s not a monster.” She had to read a book. She pulled a book off the shelf and started reading because books help her calm down.
Then . . . she was inside the black book! “I’m in the cave in the Big Book Of Magic! “ There was a witch in front of her. Luckily she had a book.
“Ms. Witch,” she said, “do you want me to read to you?”
“Sure pretty.” The witch yelled in a hoarse voice. Mattie looked at the book: “The Boring Book,” she read and put the book down to think. “Good a boring book, the witch will fall asleep,” she thought.
Finally the snoring witch went to sleep.
“O shhh O shhh,” the witch snored.
“How do I get out of the book? Maybe I should go through the path I came.” The tired dog sneaked out of the Big Book of Magic and yawned.

When Watson came back he asked, ”Did you read that book?” “Um, a no!”
“Are you sure?”
“Um, yes,” murmured Mattie.
“Well, it’s a good thing you didn’t because we would have to cancel your birthday,” said Watson.

The End!
